An Industry of Opportunity

The past 5-10 years have seen an enormous growth in the bamboo industry. This is going to create a massive amount of jobs all over the world. I only wish that the United States could see the great potential and start promoting bamboo plants. For their product capabilities. We could literally change the world. With such great potential we could get ourselves out of debt. Heck. We could probably even begin to profit from the many products bamboo has to offer. I just don't get how some countries can't live without it and some snub their nose at it. Why wouldn't you want to grow a plant that has so many uses? Like I said before it could change the world. I mean its not illegal to grow. It produces 4 times as much oxygen as trees. Why wouldn't you want to grow it just to help the environment? It's Up To You It is simple to grow. It is fun and provides building materials for all kinds of products. It helps the environment. It prevents erosion. It provides homes for many different species of birds and little woodland creatures.Who are being run out of their homes due to population overgrowth. It has many different household uses as well. Like curtain rods, tomato stakes, trellises, door handles, walking sticks, and key chains just to name a few. What are some of the bad things about bamboo? It spreads. That's it. That is the only major complaint about growing bamboo. Is that it spreads. But to me that is the best thing about growing bamboo. I mean that is the whole reason I love to grow it. Because I want a plant that is so useful to grow in my yard. And what's even better than that is. When I cut some it comes back the next year. It grows and spreads just like any other plant does. And with a plant that has so many uses why wouldn't you want it to spread? I mean more and more of a valuable commodity. I love that it spreads because that just means more money for me. So Many Uses You're Guaranteed To Make A Profit. There are just so many uses you can sell it for so many different purposes that you are literally guaranteed to make a profit from growing bamboo. So have I got your attention now? Here is how you can get started growing your own today!

P. Aureosulcata Yellow Groove Bamboo

Although this post may be an old post the potential for bamboo products is growing to this day. And we can make a difference. Bamboo products are used all over the world and continue to be a huge part of our lives whether you may know it or not. Bamboo is used to make many of the products we use today. Many kitchen utensils are made of bamboo. Your basic back scratcher is made of bamboo. Possibly your cutting board is made of bamboo. Chopsticks, toothpicks, jewelry, toys and the list just keeps going on and on. If you contact me before you come out I can make time to teach you all about bamboo before you plant. It really helps to understand the plant before planting it. Because it can get pout of control if you don't know how to contain it. But with the right care bamboo can provide for many years to come. Raw Materials The Base Of All Products

At the very beginning of every product on the shelf today. There has to be some kind of material to make the products with. Bamboo plants are quickly becoming one of the most used raw materials on the planet. And if you grow bamboo you gotta be happy about this.

Options! Options!

Because what this actually means is that. Bamboo growers have many more reasons and options when it comes to what they do with their bamboo plants. Exciting for me because I now know if I can't sell plants. I can sell the raw materials to manufacturing plants to make bamboo products. That fires me up because I grow 40 different species of bamboo and have been growing bamboo for 16 years now.

What Does This Mean To Me?

Well it means that I will have valuable building materials. Valuable plants for sale. And building materials for my own needs. Which bamboo is good for many different reasons around the house. With product that keeps replenishing itself year after year. I will have an endless supply of these materials for sale and for my own use. For many, many years to come. It takes a few years to get your bamboo grove going. So if you're thinking about starting your own grove get started as soon as possible. The Future Of The Bamboo Industry

I think you already know about the advance of products being made from bamboo. But what you might not realize is how many different products are being made from bamboo today. With that being said I could go on and on for days listing all the things made from bamboo.

But I'll just give you a few. Bamboo flooring being the top seller I believe. Because of the anti-bacterial properties of bamboo. people are not afraid to let their children play on bamboo surfaces. Bamboo cutting boards are another one because of the anti-bacterial properties they won't hold the germs like regular cutting boards do. Kitchen utensils are also another great selling product. With wooden spoons and wooden forks that are all safe to eat from.

Bamboo is literally changing the way the world looks at things. Because of its ability to replenish itself quickly it can be used over and over again unlike a tree. It produces more oxygen than a tree 4 times as much. Plus it just keeps producing more and more canes each year. If you only cut 1/3 of your grove each year it will replenish itself in one year. If you cut more than 1/3 you will hurt the strength of the grove and the canes will be smaller the following year.

I for one am taking advantage of the growth in the bamboo industry. I grow 40 different species of bamboo. Running and clumping. Timber size, medium screening sizes, and ground cover bamboo for borders. They have striking colors that really stand out. I love all of the bamboos but my favorites are the giants. Its amazing to watch these giants grow to 30 ft tall in 2 months. For More Info on Growing Bamboo Check out Hardybamboo.org or Gabelmans Gardens Blog
